DIRECTOR PRODUCER ANCHOR WRITER

After winning many accolades in theatre for both acting and directing, Rashi started her broadcast television career by launching and hosting “Subah Savere”, one of the most ambitious breakfast shows on DD1, the national channel of India. This put her on air while she was still in college, making her one of the youngest hosts to launch a high profile show.

The two-hour daily show brought her face to face with many acclaimed individuals from various fields, Subash Ghai, A.R.Rahman, Deepa Mehta, Ritu Beri, Rakesh Roshan, Bedi Brothers and Raghu Rai, to name a few.  As Rashi interviewed them about their lives, she in turn learnt about hers and realized that she loved calling shots much more than being in front of camera.

She gradually moved on to work with Asian News International (Reuters affiliate) and Zee News as a journalist/anchor where she produced news shows and directed as well as conducted field interviews. This experience gave her an added production exposure while maintaining her on-air presence,  however, a time came when she craved to tell her own stories through film-making and enrolled at Florida State University to get her Masters degree in Film Making. Here she wrote, directed, produced and worked on about 60 short films in every other capacity, including sound designing and mixing for 'Zeke'; a 15 minute short film that won the Student Oscar in 2004.

After graduation, she moved to Hollywood where she gained valuable experience in working on documentaries, reality television shows and original programming. She produced with Autonomy, an all service creative agency for clients like Discovery, BET, here!, ABC, Warner Bros and LifeTime Television.

She is actively involved in with creative community in Santa Barbara, CA and is currently the President of ScreenWriters Association Of Santa Barbara. She has helped revive the group by bringing in acclaimed guest speakers. She is also involved with Indiecoop, an association of producers in Santa Barbara.

She maintains residence in Santa Barbara, CA and Mumbai, India and is working on a couple of international film projects as a writer/director.
